Brondstetter, Margaret M.
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 at the Skilled Nursing Facility of Standish St. Mary’s of Michigan in the presence of her family at the age of 87 years.
Margaret was born to the late Joseph and Catherine (Achme) Gartner on April 30, 1925 in Au Gres. She attended Au Gres Sims Elementary and Au Gres Sims High School.
She married Robert Lyle Brondstetter on July 11, 1942 in Defiance, Ohio. They had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary prior to Robert’s death in 2008. She was a member of Twining Trinity United Methodist Church and Women’s Society. She enjoyed cooking those special meals for her family and friends, gardening, sewing and crafts. She worked for Bopp-Busch Manufacturing for twenty-five years prior to her retirement.
Surviving besides her daughter, Nancy (Joe) Kozumplik of Freeland; daughter-in-law, Sandy Brondstetter of, Hemlock; five granddaughters, Teri-Sue (Terry) Johnson, Flint; Shelly (Dave) Wangler, West Branch; Sheila Young, Pinconning; Lacy (Glenn) Hardy, Auburn; Jody (Matt) Dowland, Midland; two grandsons, John Kozumplik, Indiana; Thom (An-Lin) Kozumplik, NY; fourteen great-grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Mayes, Tiffany Johnson, Brian, Brad, Brett, Kyle, Jake Wangler, Joe and Josh Young, Brenden and Mekenzi Hardy, Mason and Jillian Dowland.
In addition to her parents, Margaret, was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2008; two sons, Bobby and Terry; brother, Johnny Gartner; sisters, Mary Smith, Lena Golombeski, and Lois Kowalski.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the St. Mary’s of Michigan Skilled Nursing Center for the wonderful and compassionate care that she received while in their care.
Visitation will take place from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3rd at the C.L. Forshee & Sons Funeral Homes, Inc, Twining Chapel, 15 Maple Ridge Road. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4th at the Twining Trinity United Methodist Church, 115 Smalley Street, Twining, MI. Pastor Marcel Lamb will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Valley Cemetery.
