Henry Floyd Quick, age 86 years, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw.  He was born on August 28, 1926 in Barryton, Michigan, the son of the late Floyd and Amy (Goodspeed) Quick.  On October 30, 1971 he married Marilyn (Newton) Steffens, and she survives him.  Henry was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vassar.  Henry was a farmer for most of his life and also worked and retired from Interstate Highway Construction.

 

Surviving family include his wife, Marilyn; step-children, Janice (Don) Paquette of Vassar, Jill (Jim) Miller of Pendleton, Indiana, Joy (Randy) Perry of Deford, Michigan and Rich (Cherie) Ballor of St. Johns, Michigan; a son-in-law, Charles Cushman of Midland, Michigan; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Kris) Paquette, Kimberly (Scott) Wegrzyn, Justin (Kim) Cushman, Brian Cushman, Amanda (Cory) Berkebile, Brad Miller, Tyler Perry, Lauren Perry, Mary Ballor and Jacob Ballor; step-great-grandchildren, Jeannette Sue, Olivia, Zachary, David and Brady; a sister-in-law, Kathryn (Richard) Lewandowski and many nieces and nephews.  Henry was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Jeannette Cushman and several brothers and sisters.

 

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Vassar.  Pastor Tyson G. Ferguson officiating.  Private interment will follow at RiversideCemetery.  The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.   Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Vassar.
