Edna Ruth Weiss, age 84 years, passed away February 1, 2013 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born on December 6, 1928 to the late Joseph and Cecilia (Boshaw) Frackowiak. On May 11, 1946 she married William Fowler and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1972. She later married Clarence Larner on May 7, 1977 and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1983. On September 14, 2002 she married Ben Weiss and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2012.
Edna is survived by 15 children, William (Connie) Fowler, James (Connie) Fowler, John Fowler, Tom (Amy) Fowler, Mark (Georgia) Fowler, Gregory (Pam) Fowler, Theresa Stricker, Daniel (Maureen) Fowler, Susan (Jim) Clark, Judy (Allan) Ley, Laura (Tom) Bosley, Mary Fowler (Don), Paul (Kitty) Fowler, Joseph (Ginger) Fowler and Andrew (Tina) Fowler; 6 step-children; 32 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Frances Chaltraw and Mary Jennings and a special friend, Mary Erskine. Along with her parents and husbands, Edna was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn Fowler; 2 sons-in-law, Robert Stricker Jr. and Ken Shepherd; and a daughter-in-law, Jean Fowler.
Edna's pride and joy was her family. Her talent of crocheting and needlepoint was a blessing shared with many. In her free time, Edna loved to travel and play bingo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1123 W. Walnut St., St. Charles. Pastor Jason Baldwin will officiate. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1 to 9 p.m. at CM Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service time. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hope Lutheran Church or to the family’s wishes.
