Philip J. Boik “Battery Phil”, age 77, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City. He was born August 10, 1935 in Detroit to Felix and Ethel (Radke) Boik. He was the former owner and operator of the Sebewaing Sports Center and current owner of Huron Battery Sales in Sebewaing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with the love of his life, his dog Sandy.
Philip is survived by his brother, Dale (Pat) Boik, his sister, Janice (Aaron) Benson, nieces, Liz (Steve) Keltcher and Carolyn (fiancé Steve) Harper, nephew, Charlie Benson, nephew-in-law, Paul Shankin, Sr., and several loving great nieces and nephews.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Ethel Boik, his sister, Beverly Occhipinti, his niece, Sherri Shankin, and nephews, Dale Boik, Jr.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-6pm.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
