Kelman, Betty “Jacquie”,
Loving mother, grandmother and aunt passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities. Age 89 years. Daughter of the late James and Mary (Ball) Campau, Betty was born and raised in the family home on Jackson St. in Saginaw, Michigan, on December 14, 1923. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1942 and was on the Homecoming Court. Jacquie was married to Edward Kelman Sr. on October 10, 1950. He predeceased her April 25, 1989. Jacquie was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear retiring in 1977 and a member of U.A.W. Local #699. She was a past member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Jacquie enjoyed garage sales, traveling, bowling, watching and attending sporting events and especially Bingo.
Grateful in sharing in her life are three daughters and one son, Cathi and Alan Leslie, Saginaw; Bonnie Jo and Harlan Stephens, Rapid City, South Dakota; Jackie and Kevin Miller, Manistique; Edward Kelman Jr., Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren, Patrick Leslie, Denton, Mackenzie and Drew Stephens, Samuel and Ashley Miller, Christopher Farrell and Zachary Kelman; a great-granddaughter, Ava-Morae Kelman; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Jacquie was preceded by two sisters Doris Beffrey and B. Jane Chapman and a great-grandson, Damien Kelman.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Ryan Beffrey will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
