She was predeceased by her husband Charles G. Halladay Sr. in 1984.

Marge passed away February 6, 2013, age 78.  She was born in Bay City to the late Arthur and Thelma (Hall) Basselman on June 27, 1934 and has been a lifelong area resident.  She retired from Washington School after over 25 years of service, working as a noon aid.  She shared her life with others as a volunteer at Farragut School, Bay County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Girl Scouts, Toys for Tots, and was an avid crafter and quilter.  Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Debra (Robert) Greenleaf of Davenport FL, Barbara (Robert) Lijewski of Midland MI, Cindy (Ted) Montei of Britton MI, Susan (Rick) Schulte of Bay City MI, Charles (Jane) Halladay II of Big Rapids MI; grandchildren, Jennifer Jo (Mike) Newmark, Christopher (April) Greenleaf, Jeremy Greenleaf, Patrick Lijewski, Keith (Shannon) Lijewski, & Kelly Montei; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Evan, Lucas, & Kylie.  She was predeceased by her husband Charles G. Halladay Sr. in 1984. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1 PM.  Pastor Dan Gonder will officiate with a private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, MI on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2 – 8 PM and on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Bay County American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.hyattewald.com
