Florence Pigott (Karpus)

Florence Pigott age 105 passed away peacefully Friday morning February 8, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region. She was born January 10, 1908 in Bay City to the late William & Julia (Polom) Karpus. Florence married Patrick H. Pigott January 23, 1933. He predeceased her January 16, 1976. She was a member of St. James Church, Altar Society, Legion of Mary and the League of Catholic Women and Men.
Surviving are four grandsons: William (Cynthia) Whalen, Clarence, Patrick and Arthur Whalen, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and son in-law; Julia and Arthur Whalen, three brothers; Walter, Edward & John Karpus and four sisters: Angeline Hall, Elizabeth Patterson, Blanche Zielinski and Edith Janoviak.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from St. James Church. Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. James Elementary School.
