Bernard F. Allen, age 94,of Beaverton passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was born in Clare County on April, 28, 1918, the son of Frederick & Elnora (Runyon) Allen. He married Josie Newman in Clare County on September 15, 1940. He was a Farmer until 1962 then left the farm to become the Trasportation and Maintenance Supervisor for the Beaverton Schools until his retirement in 1983. He was also Mayor of the City of Beaverton from 1972-1992 as well as on the City Council from 1961-1971 and on the Gladwin County Fair Board. He was a member of the Bevaerton United Methodist Church, Gideons, and the Masonic Lodge in Coleman. He is survived by his wife: Josie Allen of Beaverton; 4 children: Nancy (Jim) Humphrey of Spring Lake; Jim (Coleen) Allen of Beaverton; Darlene (Russ) Ameter of Dowling; Barb (Craig) Rozanek of Coleman; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Bernard was predeceased by his parents; sister: Aletha Garver; daughter: Sandra Maxine. Funeral Services will be conducted by pastor Lynn Chappell on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at the Beaverton United Methodist Church, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 11 , 2013, from 2-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan.
