Mary Anna Heckroth, age 85 years of Unionville, passed away February 10, 2013. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1927, a daughter of Andrew and Theresa (Guster) Gangler. On August 12, 1944 she married Clayton 'Bud' Heckroth. Bud preceded her in death January 14, 2011. Mary was a member of the Moravian Church. She enjoyed passing the time by tending to her flower garden and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Connie and husband Gary Ballard and daughter-in-law, Geri Dole. She also leaves a brother, John (Ann) Gangler and sister, Jeanne (Donald) Lindenberg, grandchildren Angela (Tim) Cramer, Carla (Eric) Fernald,Jenny Koehler, Terri (Matt) Lutz and Angie Heckroth Sebert, and great-grandchildren Jacob and Sarah Cramer, C.J. and Tanner Heckroth, Hayden, Collin and Bret Fernald, Zak and Douglas Koehler and Joe and John Lutz, along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death was a son, Jack, a grandson Darin, a great-granddaughter, Miranda, and sisters Eva Fritz, Evelyn Wolf, Frances Bolzman and Catherine Hornbacher.
The funeral service will take place at eleven o'clock Thursday morning, February 14th at the Moravian Church, with Rev. Trina Holmberg officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mary's family has suggested memorials to the Moravian Church or to the A-C-W Ambulance Service.
Friends may call at Unionville Funeral Chapel on Wednesday between the hours of 2 pm and 8 pm, and at the church on Thursday from 10 am until service time.
