Survived By: Surviving besides his wife of 48 years are their children Gregory Tait and Karin & Tyler Vogel; 3 granddaughters Emma Tait, Avery and Addison Vogel; 2 brother David & Sue Tait and Robert & Norma Tait; a sister Kathryn Leitch; a sister in law Eleen Tait and Jeanine Tait; brother & sister in law Ivaleen & George Jablonski and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers James & Bernard (Bud) Tait.
Affiliations: He was born in Pinnebog, Michigan on August 6, 1939 to the late LeRoy & Florine Tait. He married the former Phyllis Helminiak on October 10, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church, Kawkawlin. Leon was retired from the Bay City Sears Store and F.P. Horak Co. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish and devoted a great deal of time working around the church and serving on several committees and boards.

Mr. Tait 73 passed away Tuesday February 12, 2013 at home with his loving family at his side following a courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Pinnebog, Michigan on August 6, 1939 to the late LeRoy & Florine Tait. He married the former Phyllis Helminiak on October 10, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church, Kawkawlin.  Leon was retired from the Bay City Sears Store and F.P. Horak Co. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish and devoted a great deal of time working around  the church and serving on several committees and boards.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday February 15, 2013 at 11 am from Sacred Heart Church with Rev Fr. Jerzy Dobosz and Deacon Michael Arnold presiding with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm. On Friday Mr. Tait will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of Mass.
