Survived By: Joyce and Don were blessed with three children, Mark Knisley of Scottville; Charlene (Brian) Wieland of Kawkawlin; and Janelle (Ronald) Schultz of Auburn. She found great joy in her five grandchildren, Jason (Angelique) Wieland, Matthew (Jessica) Wieland, Joseph (Tara) Wieland, Ryan (Stacy) Schultz and Ashley (Jason) Reed and her fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Jean Stuart and Janice Parker and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce Knisley, 86, was greeted by her heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, surrounded by her family at Kings Daughters Home in Midland. She was born June 23, 1926 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Floyd and Edith (Wood) Parker. She attended Arthur Hill high School and later graduated from Delta College. On April 2, 1945 she married “the love of her wife”, Donald Knisley at Sheppard Field Air force Base in Texas. Donald predeceased her in 1992. She loved experiencing a wide variety of cuisines, traveling and a good game of cards.

 

Joyce and Don were blessed with three children, Mark Knisley of Scottville; Charlene (Brian) Wieland of Kawkawlin; and Janelle (Ronald) Schultz of Auburn. A Celebration of her Life will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St. Midland.    Chaplain Wayne Schidler will officiate with inurnment to take place later in the Midland City Cemetery. Joyce’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Kings Daughters, 509 Rodd St. Midland. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all of the “guardian angels” who gave such compassion and loving care to Joyce while she was a resident at Kings Daughters Home.
