Dinsmoore, Thomas R. “Tom”
Freeland, Michigan
Passed away Tuesday afternoon February 12, 2013 at Care link of Jackson, MI after a lengthy illness at the age of 70 years. Tom was born June 14, 1942 in Flat Rock, MI to the late Cornelius “Neil” O. and Josephine (LeFever) Dinsmoore and has resided in this area all of his life. Tom was in the first Adult Education class that graduated in Freeland in 1979. He worked at Saginaw Steering Gear/GM/Delphi from 1967 until retirement in 2006. Tom was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith; he also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and golf and was an avid NASCAR and Dale Jr. fan. He also enjoyed watching the penguins at Saginaw Children’s Zoo. On August 6, 1966 he married Ruth Ann Schmidt, she survives him. A son; Jeff Dinsmoore of Ft. Wayne, IN, a daughter; Kristin Anderson of Ft. Wayne, IN., a sister; Marian Laura of Monroe, MI, a special nephew; Harry Laura, special friends; Lila & Jim Smith of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews also survive Tom. Six sisters and one brother have predeceased Tom.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 16, 2013 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland. Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate. Per Tom’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland, MI on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Those planning expression sympathy are asked to consider Saginaw City’s Children’s Zoo, St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith or the donor’s favorite charity.
