Survived By: On October 27, 1956 Jim married the former Jessie Mae Fredenburg who preceded him in death on April 1, 2006. Survivors include his three daughters and spouses: JoAnn & Barry Bernard, Patti & Randy Berlin, and Michelle & Michael Rowell; four grandchildren: Josh Bernard, Alex and Chandler Berlin, and Madison Rowell; his companion, Nancy Dorion; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Morgan Rowell; and his sister, Lois Militello.
Affiliations: Jim retired from Dow Chemical Company. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Elks Bay City Lodge #88, and Moose Lodge #169. Jim served honorably in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Age 78 years, died Friday, February 15, 2013 in Port Charlotte, Florida.  He was born to the late Arthur and Isabel (Schultz) LaCombe on August 27, 1934 in Bay City.  Jim retired from Dow Chemical Company. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Elks Bay City Lodge #88, and Moose Lodge #169.  Jim served honorably in the U. S. Army.  He enjoyed dancing, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  On October 27, 1956 Jim married the former Jessie Mae Fredenburg who preceded him in death on April 1, 2006.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Church.  Jim will lie in state in church Friday after 9:00 AM.  Rev. Robert S. Gohm will preside with interment following in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society (1480 W. Center Rd. Suite 1, Essexville, MI 48732) or Tidewell Hospice (1158 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33552).  Visiting hours are Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at the W. A.
