George W. Kuhl, age 88, of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland.
He was born June 28, 1924 in Bay Port to Arthur and H. Donna (Graves) Kuhl.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 3rd Infantry Division. He married Joy Perlene Dutcher on August 29, 1946 at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Bay Port. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage together.
Throughout his life, George enjoyed working many jobs. He was a dairy farmer, school bus driver, a rough and finished carpenter, and a mailman for the Bay Port Post office. He was a lifetime member of the Sebewaing American Legion Post #293. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting, fishing and carpentry.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Joy P. Kuhl; his loving children, Roger Kuhl of Sebewaing, Debra (Behrend) Schoettke of Bay City, and Chris (Pam) Kuhl of Pinconning; his dearest grandchildren, Douglas (Briana) Kuhl, Curtis (Mihyang) Kuhl, Timothy (Courtney) Kuhl, Gregory (Holly Tong) Kuhl, Todd Reid, Beth (Jason) Holben, Kelly Schoettke and Nichole Schoettke.; 7 great grandchildren; his sisters, Violet Grassel, Janice (Benjamin) Rocha and Faye (James) Calloway; his sister-in-laws, Onalee Kuhl, Emily Kuhl and Carol Kuhl.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Kenneth Kuhl, Cecil Kuhl and Russell Kuhl.
Visitation is Friday, February 22, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-9pm.
The funeral service is at 11am, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.
Burial will take place at New Bay Port Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Sebewaing American Legion Post # 293 or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
