Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Earl B. Johnson Sr., went home to our Lord on February 19, 2013 at Healthsource Saginaw. Age 88 years. He was born November 23, 1924 in Hardy, Mississippi to Mamie (Young) Johnson and Warren Johnson Sr.

 

Earl enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. He married Rosie B. Booker on May 1, 1945. Earl retired from General Motors Malleable Iron Plant after many years of faithful service. He loved to paint, cook, work in the yard and taking walks. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, Rosie Booker Johnson; three daughters, Louise Martin, Dolores Johnson, Josephine Alexander, all of Saginaw, Michigan; two sons, Nathan Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Wilbert (Julia) Madyun, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Alice Faye Johnson, Texas; grandchildren, Abdul Madyun, Ebony (John) Waweru, Claire King, Rashad Madyun, Camille Freeman, Davina Owen, Amanda Martin, Florence, Crystal, Andrea and Breannah Alexander, Dara McBride, Dominic Johnson, Shirletha Williams, Adora (Dulle) Ladisic, Hubert (Lauren) Alexander Jr.; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Herrons and Glover Lee Green; two sisters-in-law, Verna Weeks and Annie Mae (Robert Sr.) Parker; many other relatives and friends.

 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie and Warren Johnson Sr., one son, Earl B. Johnson Jr., three sisters and six brothers.

 

The family would like to express special thanks to Healthsource Saginaw “Garden Unit” staff, nurses, social workers and the exceptional CNA’s that took care of Earl B. Johnson during his illness.
