Obituary for Kathryn Lois (Umphrey) Pieniozek of Bentley, Michigan
Kathryn, age 81, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Country Square Senior Home after a lingering illness. She was born on October 5, 1931 to Floyd and Geneva (Weber) Umphrey in Omer, Michigan. On August 12, 1950, she married Stanley Pieniozek at St. Florian Catholic Church in Standish. He preceded her in 2004. Kathryn loved cooking for groups at church and her family, shopping and being with her family.
Survivors of Kathryn are her children Gale (Diane) Pieniozek, Dale (Sumi) Pieniozek, Kevin (Parri) Pieniozek, Laurie Pieniozek and Phillip Pieniozek (fiancé Tanya); nine grandchildren Shelia, Steven, Christina, Donald, Nick, Richard, Valerie, Brent and Melissa and nine great-grandchildren; her sisters Elaine (Earl) Davis, Jean (Wes) Papple, Arlene (Larry) Sevilla and her brother Ronald Umphrey; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Lillian, Chester (Pat), Leo, Angeline, John (Pam) Pieniozek and Sarah Umphrey; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband Stanley and son David, siblings Edna (Vernon) Kraus, Albert (Gladys) Umphrey, Donna ( Edmund) Correa, Elvin Umphrey and Carl Umphrey, sisters-in-law Pat Umphrey, Lottie (John) Pilat and Carol Pieniozek, brothers-in-laws Frank (Donna) Pieniozek and Edward Pieniozek.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be at the chapel on Tuesday from 4:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
