Meharg, Eldon L. – of Clio, Formerly of Mt. Morris, age 90, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-9PM and Saturday from 12PM until time of services. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

 

Eldon was born June 16, 1922 in Brockway, MI to the late John and Arzaville (Middleton) Meharg. Mr. Meharg served in the US Navy from 1945-1946 during WWII in the Pacific Theatre as a gunner’s mate on the USS New Jersey. He retired from Buick Motor Division after 32 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local #599. Eldon enjoyed bowling, gardening and horse races.

 

Surviving are: Wife, Alma;  children, Kenneth (Sue) Meharg of Prudenville, Penny Sue Ettinger of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Stephenie (Gabe) Labovitz, April (Alan) Voecks, Amika Meharg- Winder, Kenneth Meharg II, Michelle (Mark) Kincannon, Penelope (Tim) Sikes, Jennifer Graves, Michael (Katie) Thornton, Alissa (Brad) Naegle, Robert Ettinger, Jonathan Ettinger, Amy ( Kenn) North, George Ettinger III; special niece, Edna Pennington; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
