Hanson, Rolf G., of Saginaw, Michigan, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center – Cooper. Age 76 years. Rolf was born on February 12, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN to the late Walter and Thelma (Gullickson) Hanson. He was married to Helen M. Jutila on January 3, 1953, and she predeceased him on March 13, 2004. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Rolf was employed at Wright-K Technologies as an electrical controls designer. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, having served on numerous committees and had sung in the chancel choir. Rolf was past president and board member of United Financial Credit Union. He also was a member of Chapter #136 – Lazy Dog Campers, N.C.H.A. The family wishes to thank Diane Naegele for her companionship and care for Rolf, and to the Staff of Covenant-Cooper, 3-North, and the Better Breathers support group; also to Dr. Gary Brooks. Surviving are his son, daughters and their spouses, Dr. David L. (Christine) Hanson, Roscommon; Kathryn (James) Bocade, Saginaw; Lori Butler and John Hunt, Minooka, IL; six grandchildren, Mark, Stephanie, Jason and his wife, Ann, and her daughter, Emily; Jessica, Ashley, and Jonathan; one great-grandson, Andrew; also a two nieces and one nephew, Rona Reichert, Cindy Thompson and Scot Reichert. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sonya Kay Weiss and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hanson and his sister, Margaret Reichert.

  Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway. The Rev. Kathleen Basner will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Monday, March 1, 2010, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
