Survived By: Surviving besides her husband Michael and her father Waldo and his wife Pat, is her six grandchildren, one brother, Jeffrey Waldo Hecht and his wife Tina of Vassar; two step-daughters and their spouses, Beth and James Amy of Higgins Lake; and Dana and Chad Creevy of Zeeland; two step brothers, Brian (Julie) Morley of Grand Blanc; and Jason (Ann) Morley of Clio; her mother-in-law, Delores Clemens, her sister-in-law Joy Kozak, two nephews, Kevin Russel and Trenton Jeffery Hecht and her pet cockatiel, "Chet".

Darlene Sue (Hecht) Kozak, 50, of Linwood, died unexpectedly, Friday, August 16, 2013 in Saginaw. She was born July 17, 1963 in Cass City, daughter of Waldo Hecht and his wife Pat of Vassar and the late Paula Jo (Nowland) Hecht, who predeceased her November 27, 2006. Darlene attended the St. Michael’s Lutheran School in Richville and Vassar High School. She received her GED from Kirkland Community College. On May 17, 1997 she was married to Michael Kozak in Saginaw. He survives her. She was employed in many different positions with Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union in Saginaw for twenty-three years, most recently as a Loan Officer. Her favorite enjoyments included walking on the beach, boating, “warm weather” and traveling. 



Surviving besides her husband Michael and her father Waldo and his wife Pat, is her six grandchildren, one brother, Jeffrey Waldo Hecht and his wife Tina of Vassar; two step-daughters and their spouses, Beth and James Amy of Higgins Lake; and Dana and Chad Creevy of Zeeland; two step brothers, Brian (Julie) Morley of Grand Blanc; and Jason (Ann) Morley of Clio; her mother-in-law, Delores Clemens, her sister-in-law Joy Kozak, two nephews, Kevin Russel and Trenton Jeffery Hecht and her pet cockatiel, “Chet”. 



Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese. Rev. Rob Gadeken of the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville will officiate with committal services to follow in the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
