Freeland, Michigan
formerly of Essexville
Passed away early Wednesday morning March 10, 2010 at Brian’s House in Bay
City after a brief illness, age 70 years. He was born Septmber 30, 1939 the son
of the late Arthur K. and Phylliss A. (McCginnis) Irish in Bay City and had resid-
ed in this area all his life. He was a member of Freeland Assembly of God Church,
was a life member of AmVets Post #22 in Bay City in which he held the off ice of
Head Trustee. He was an avid sports fan of Saginaw Valley, Freeland, Loons and
softball in Bay City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he loved
fishing and supported his children’s sports activities. On March 20, 1965 he married
Joyce A. Spencer, she survives him. Also surviving are a daughter; Shawn Jordan,
Freeland, two grandchildren; Ashley and Morgan, two brothers; Phillip (Peggy)
Irish, Indianapolis, IN., Denny (Coral “Corky”) Irish, Bay City and a sister; Claudette
Huggard, Bay City. Larry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the
Staff of Brian’s House in Bay City for all there care.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Freeland
Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. (Washington Ave. & 2nd Sts.)
Freeland. Rev. Don Calvin will officiate. Military committal services accorded by the
Bay Area Veterans Council will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Chapel, Bay City.
Larry’s family will receive friends at the Freeland Chapel on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
and on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A Clover service will
be held 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
