Archie F. Smith Jr. formerly of Fostoria, MI. and currently of Saginaw, age 93 died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Cartwright Care Center of Saginaw. A Service of Remembrance will be held 12 Noon Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Avram Funeral Home, Mayville, MI with Pastor Sam Reece officiating. Internment will be at Maple Cemetery in Lincoln, Vermont at a later date. Family will receive friends 10 A.M. Saturday until the time of Service. Archie was born November 3, 1916 at York, Maine. He attended Fostoria Baptist church and was a member of the Mayville American Legion Post # 181. His parents were Archie F Sr and Elnora (Murray) Smith. He married Esther Rossier July 28, 1940 in Johnson, Vermont. Archie retired from Atco Structures of Anchorage, AK in 1983. He served in the army in World War II. Archie loved fishing, traveling and his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Esther, 4 children: Elnora (Ronald) Flory of Chesaning, Carolyn (John) Chekaway of Manistee, Richard (Teresa) Smith of Cherry Hill, NJ, Bruce (Jo-Al) Smith of Kemp, Texas. 14 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Several cousins and special friends.
