Langevin who survives along with their nine children: Mark Brandow, Jay Brandow, Paul (Tammy) Brandow, Tom (Marge) Brandow, Peggy Brandow, Maureen (Bill) Corristan, Marilyn (Ray) Hemstreet, Timothy Brandow, Terry (Sue) Brandow; five grandchildren: Stephanie Schopp, Michael Brandow, Katie Brandow, Nicole and Tyler Hemstreet; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters: Jerry (Nannette) Brandow, Earl (Catherine) Brandow, Marilyn Collin, Carol (Theron) Monroe, Gary (Sandy) Brandow; and several nieces and nephews.
Affiliations: Korean War veteran of the U. S. Army, member of the American Legion and the DAV.

BRANDOW, DONALD R.

Bay City

 Age 79 years, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 in The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant Nursing Facility.  He was born November 24, 1930 to the late Jerry and Irma (Berthiaume) Brandow in Bay City.  After high school, Don enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War as a paratrooper.  He played semi-pro football, and coached and refereed on the high school level for many years. Don also enjoyed his cabin in Standish which happened to be close to the casino where he spent not only his time but a few dollars on occasion. He was a member of the American Legion in Florida and the DAV.

 One September 15, 1951 he married the former Janice M. Langevin who survives along with their nine children:  Mark Brandow of Seattle, Jay Brandow of Bay City, Paul (Tammy) Brandow of W. VA, Tom (Marge) Brandow of Park City, IL, Peggy Brandow of Bay City, Maureen (Bill) Corristan of Sarasota, FL, Marilyn (Ray) Hemstreet of Chester Springs, PA, Timothy Brandow of Bay City, Terry (Sue) Brandow of Bay City; five grandchildren:  Stephanie Schopp, Michael Brandow, Katie Brandow, Nicole and Tyler Hemstreet; two great-grandchildren;  three brothers and two sisters:  Jerry (Nannette) Brandow of Bay City, Earl (Catherine) Brandow of Bay City, Marilyn Collin of MI, Carol (Theron) Monroe of Fairgrove, and Gary (Sandy) Brandow of FL, and several nieces and nephews.

 The Funeral Liturgy and Committal Rite will be celebrated Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, Bay City.  Don will lie in state in church Saturday after 9:00 am.  Rev. Craig Albrecht will preside and military rites will follow under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council.  Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Visiting hours with the family will be Friday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be designated for St. Mary’s Food Pantry or Camp Fish Tales.  On line condolences:     www.trahanfc.com
