Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Dorothy are two sons, five daughters and their spouses, Joseph P. and Laurie Reinig, Thomas C. Reinig, Mary K. and Mark Schwarck, Judy A. and Bryan Jowers, Susan M. and Robert Townsend, Marsha J. and Robert Caylor, Theresa J. and John Sheets; 18 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; his brother Frederick L. and Jan Reinig; many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his son, James F. Reinig.
Affiliations: Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away March 16, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at home. Age 85 years. Son of the late Carl K. and Katherine L. (Hamilton) Reinig, Carl was born October 31, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. Carl served in the U.S. Navy for 7 ½ years. He enlisted November 9, 1942 and served on the USS Albermarle during WWII. He was discharged in early 1945 and in 1947 reenlisted in the Naval Reserve to serve on the USS PC785 stationed in Saginaw as a training vessel. He was discharged and later recalled for the Korean War and was stationed at the Port Huron, Michigan Naval Reserve Training Center. Carl married Dorothy A. Ayotte, his loving wife of 62 years on November 8, 1947. She survives him. Carl was a maintenance foreman at Dow Chemical Company retiring after 28 ½ years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Auburn and past member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He enjoyed the nature and wild life of Arizona and was a well known handyman for family and friends.

 A  special thanks to the Veterans Administration of Saginaw and Tucson, Arizona and Sister Elaine Raymond for the love and care they had given.

 Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Robert DeLand will officiate. Military Services will be conducted by American Legion Post #439 after Mass. Honoring Mr. Reinig’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Elaine Raymond will take place 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center or charity of your choice.
