HEBERT, Leo J.
Vassar, Michigan
Leo Joseph Hebert, age 81 years, passed away March 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Flint, Michigan on October 21, 1928 to the late Leo J., Sr. and Helen C. (Edwards) Hebert. On December 30, 1950 he married Caroline M. Wejsa in Bay City and she survives him. Leo was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion Post 164, VFW Post 10884 and was Past President of Vassar Eagles No. 2380. He was also a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Vassar. Leo was the owner and operator of Heb’s Loft in Vassar for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline “Carrie”, 6 children: Linda (Warren) Smith, Sheryl (Douglas) Garner, Leo Jay (Karen) Hebert, Michael (Sue) Hebert, Todd Hebert, and Patrick (Susan) Hebert; grandchildren: Lance (Amy), Tiffany, Adam, Justin, and Ryan; step-grandchildren: Jeremy, Joshua and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Alyssa and David.
In accordance with Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Lutheran Home Care - Hospice of Hope, 9710 Junction Rd. Suite A, Frankenmuth, MI 48734. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.
