Norman N. Nichols, Sr., age 55, of Owosso, formerly of Lansing and Florida, passed away  Sunday, March 14th, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel, 409 West Main Street, Owosso.  Interment will follow at Oak Plain Cemetery, Shaftsburg.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Norman was born in  Lansing on July 4, 1954, the son of Allen R. and Fairy H. (Betz) Nichols.  He had been employed in the greater Lansing area for many years installing and repairing roofs with the Spartan Roofing Company.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle, however, his greatest joys came from anytime spent with his grandchildren.

Those who survive him include:  son, Norman N. Nichols Jr. of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Eric, Shelby and Mackenzie Nichols; sisters and brothers, Penny (Ron) King, Kathy (Schley) Livermore, Rachel Meeks, John Wayne (Tammy) Nichols, David (Cheryl) Nichols, Linda Nichols, Lori Derkin, Doug (Rachelle) Nichols and Carrie (Roy) Stine; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville and Lee; a sister, Ella Rae Nichols; and a brother-in-law, Fred Meeks.
