Wirt, Elton D. ‘Wayne”

Passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Carson City Hospital.  Age 58 years.  He was born on May 25, 1951 in Owosso to Edward and Shirley (Courter) Wirt. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had formerly worked for Farm Bureau in Chesaning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending  time with his grandchildren and family.

Surviving are his four children, Elton ( Dawn) Wirt II of Ashley; Dana (Daniel) Scott of Vestaburg; Heather (Carl ) McCarrick Jr. of Alma; Timothy (Crystal) Wirt of  New Mexico;  seven grandchildren, his father and step mother, Edward & Marion Wirt, of Ashley, two brothers and one sister, Eddie (Carol) Wirt of Midland; Ervin (Marvalee) Wirt of Bannister; Cheryl (Don) Burtch Jr.; two step-brothers, Ned and Mike Ferguson: numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley and sister, Dixie Lee and brother, Edward.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from  the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning. Rev. Richard Wadsworth will officiate with burial in Ridge Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family. www.Wmartinfuneralhome.com
