Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late David and Martha (Kelpinski) Borowiak, Delphine was born on August 7, 1929 in Gaylord, Michigan. She married Eldon Streu, her beloved husband of 58 years, on April 5, 1952. Delphine gave years of caring and giving to all of her family as well as her parents and siblings. She loved her grandchildren and has many happy memories. Delphine was famous for her apple pie and fudge. Delphine sincerely appreciated the loving care of her family.
Surviving besides her husband Eldon are three sons, two daughters and their spouses, David Streu and Rebecca Gomez, Bay City; Rick and Nancy Streu, Midland; Randall and Pamela Streu, Midland; Sheryl and Michael Poublon, Hemlock; Debra and Timothy Prall, Fort Wayne, Indiana; 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Romaine and Edward Mikolaski, Saginaw; one brother, Al “Skip” and Nancy Satkowiak, Freeland; several nieces and nephews. Delphine was predeceased by her five sisters, Bernadine, Virginia, Evelyn, Patricia and Judy; five brothers, Dave, Ron, Jim, Jerry and Dale.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor David Burnette will officiate with burial in Midland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
