Michael J. Pickvet, age 54, passed away suddenly in his home on August 7th, 2017. Born August 26th, 1962, to the late Louis Pickvet Jr. and Leota Davies-Pickvet, Michael was born and raised in Pinconning, Michigan, and excelled as an academic at Pinconning High School, finishing in the top ten in his class. He was also accepted to attend the University of Michigan. He began working as a delivery driver for Muehlenbeck Distributing of Saginaw in 1979, which was purchased by J.P. O’Sullivan distributing in 2010, where he worked up until his death. Michael also spent time at farmers’ markets selling Jarhead Salsa, which is run by his brother-in-law, Tom Smith, and his nephew, Dave Smith, from 2013 up until his death. Michael enjoyed golfing on Monday afternoons with friends, and spending time with his many friends, and family. Michael had heart issues stemming back to 2012, where he underwent a quadruple bypass surgery. He died of a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Willard, his father, Louis Pickvet Jr., his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Dorothy Hall, and his grandparents, William Davies and Adella Hall-Davies, and Louis Pickvet Sr. and Iva Schott-Pickvet. He is survived by his two sons, Evan and Nicholas Pickvet, his wife, Debra Hall-Pickvet, his mother, Leota Davies-Pickvet, his sisters, Sandra Smith (Thomas Smith), Juli Pickvet, Andrea Dubay, his brothers Mark Pickvet (Robin Rainwater), and Louis Pickvet (Fairy Pickvet), he is also survived by brothers-in-law Bill Willard (Debbie Willard), Richard Hall (Patricia Hall), sister-in-law Patricia Hutchins, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday August 10, 2017 at 10 am from Prince of Peace -Sacred heart Church with Rev. Fr. Nicholas F. Coffaro presiding with entombment at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Family will be present at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 8 pm. On Thursday Mike will lie in state at church from 9 am until time of Mass.
