Vernice Elizabeth Galazin of Bentley, MI departed for her heavenly home July 23, 2010.  Born June 8, 1919 in Sterling, she was the youngest of Martin and Susan (Balon) Holevar's nine children.  She loved to sing and was always proud of having been privileged as a teenager, to sing a solo for the then Governor of Michigan.

Vernice joined Victor Galazin in holy matrimony for 34 years, and after their divorce in 1974, she remained true to both her Catholic faith and her one true love, refusing to remarry even after Victor passed in 1994.  She enjoyed pinochle, gardening and various types of craftwork, especially those intended for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  More than anything else, she greatly loved seeing her family and friends who dropped in for visits and never forgot a birthday or anniversary, always remembering to call or send cards or notes.  She cherished her six children and continued to raise them up right up until the end.

Vernice was predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Joseph, George and John Holevar and by sisters Anna Schmidt, Margaret Pokojski and Sausan Enderle.
