Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Dee are one daughter and one son, Catherine Billow, Saginaw; Gerald Ankoviak, San Antonio, Texas; a step-son, Rick Ankoviak and his wife Michelle, St. Louis, Missouri; a son-in-law, Kevin Billow, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Bryce, Raiden, Kiyoshi Ankoviak, Caitlin, Kevin Jr. and Cody Billow; one sister, Dorothy and Don Albosta, St. Charles; one brother, John and Mary Ankoviak, Carrollton; many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Ankoviak.
Affiliations: The son of the late Stanley and Clara (Sobecki) Ankoviak, David was born December 14, 1940 in Carrollton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1566. David married Mie (Dee) Ikema on March 2, 1963. She survives him. He was retired from the United States Postal Service in 1996 and had a combined total of 36 years of Federal service. David was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

 Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center. Age 69 years. The son of the late Stanley and Clara (Sobecki) Ankoviak, David was born December 14, 1940 in Carrollton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1566. David married Mie (Dee) Ikema on March 2, 1963.  Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Honoring Mr. Ankoviak’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center.
