Sheets, Don R., Sr.

Saginaw, Michigan

     Passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his home following a brief illness at the age of 80 years.

     He was born February 7, 1930 in Saginaw to the late John and Arnita (Ackels) Sheets.  He graduated from Saginaw High School.  Don served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean War.  He was employed in skilled trades at Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #4 for 40 years.  He was a member of American legion Post #22 and the Proud Veterans Motorcycle Club.

     Surviving are two sons and two daughters and their spouses, Don Sheets, DVM and his wife Diane, Saginaw; Mike (Mary) Sheets, Florida; Pamela Sheets, M.D. and her husband Frank Bosl,  Washington; Mary Ann (Stan) Kurbel, Texas; his special friend, Kathy Bauer; special step-children, Jeanie Hill and Terrall Hill; 5 grandchildren, Whitney, Brittany, Mallori, Mandy and Dakota; one brother, Jack (Nancy) Sheets; one sister, JoAnn (Jac) Ford; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kaitlin.

     Cremation has taken place.  Friends and family may meet for a celebration of Don’s life at American Legion Post #22, 2200 Niagara St. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider American Legion Post #22.
