Laurie was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Claya Hager.
Affiliations: The daughter of the late John and Laura (Kleja) Putanko, Laurie was born March 17, 1956 in Berkley, Michigan. She married Jack Diefenderfer on November 22, 1975. He survives her. Laurie was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She was an advocate for the education and research of Autoimmune Diseases and their effects. Laurie enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

 Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities. Age 61 years. The daughter of the late John and Laura (Kleja) Putanko, Laurie was born March 17, 1956 in Berkley, Michigan. She married Jack Diefenderfer on November 22, 1975. He survives her. Laurie was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She was an advocate for the education and research of Autoimmune Diseases and their effects. Laurie enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

 Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at St. John Vianney Catholic Church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
