Affiliations: Owned Sand Lake Serviced and AAA Wrecker Service for 31 years, Peggy and her husband Ron started the Sand Lake Snow-goers on September 13, 1969 in the Sand Lake Bar. She was president from 1986 to present.

Peggy Ann Konke, age 69, of Sand Lake, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at home with her family by her side.  She was born on January 14, 1941 in Romeo.  Peggy married Ron Ponke in September 1958.  They moved to Sand Lake in 1964 and owned and operated Sand Lake Service and AAA Wrecker Service for 31 years.   Peggy and Ron started the Sand Lake Snow-goers on September 13, 1969 in the Sand Lake Bar.  She was president from 1986 to present.  Peggy loved her fishing trips to Canada, her trips to Colorado and her flowers, but best of all, she loved being with family and friends and her gatherings and parties at her home.  Peg will truly be remembered for all her kindness and acts of love she gave to everyone.  Peg is survived by her daughter, Sherri (John)  St. James: granddaughter, Samantha VanAlstine; sister Shirley (Louie) Thomas; special friend, Janck Sanders: Squeaks the cat; nieces and nephews: and Grammie's other kids.  Peggy was met in Heaven by her husband Ron; her mother Mildren Moskow; sister Janet Fielden; and her father in law, Tony Ponke.  At the family's request, a private cremation has taken place.  Memorial donation may be made to the American Cancer Society of to Hospice Angelic Care.  Arrangments by Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan, 1-888-273-3553.  To sign online guest book and leave words of sympathy go to www.cremationsocietymidmi.com.
