Steve age 64, loving companion, father and friend passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at McLaren of Flint, Michigan. He was born on May 27, 1953 in Wheaton, Minnesota to the late George & Florence (Shell) Sagissor. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service time he was employed in Texas as an underwater welder, he also worked at American Crystal Sugar in North Dakota. Steve then moved to Michigan in 1986 where he became a Paramedic for many years to include MMR for the Arenac County for over 16 years, he also served as a Medical Examiner Deputy in Arenac County for several years. Steve will always be remembered for his sensational sense of humor, his love for animals and how willing he was to help anyone that needed his help. He found happiness doing things for people who were unfortunate in life which he himself had struggles with in the last years of his life. Steve was a responsible citizen, a wonderful caring companion. He loved to sing and have fun even in his darkest days. He will truly be missed by his fiancé, family and his friends. Steve is survived by his fiancé Amy McCarthy and her children; John (Rainey), Megan and Samantha, his daughter Jamie (Edy) Rivera and their son Ethan Rivera, brothers Rev. George (Jolene) Sagissor and their children and a brother James (Monica) and their children. He was predeceased by his parents and his step father James Lillehaug. Per Steve’s request cremation has taken place he will be laid to rest in Minnesota next to his beloved Mother. A Private Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Arenac County Animal Shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
