Our daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend went to be with our beloved Lord unexpectedly on Monday December 4, 2017. She was born August 10, 1974 in Midland to Dorothy (Kosnik) Guillen-Zimmerman and the late George Guillen. Shawn was a stay at home mom, running around attending every single function her children had. She volunteered for all the kids schools endlessly, PTO Mom, soccer coach, you name it she did it. She helped and did many things sensibly to help others. Her latest was the greatest, to donate the Gift of Life. This is who she was giving and always caring about other before herself. She survived by her husband; John T. Weeks whom she married on June 18, 2004, her parents; Dorothy (Kosnik) Guillen- (Clifford) Zimmerman, her twin siblings; Jennifer (Guillen) Mark Laskowski, Jeremy Guillen and Kris Sowers, her oldest son; George Guillen (21) of Grand Valley State University, and her 2 children with John, Curtis (14), Tianna (12), her 3 step-girls; Krystal (30), Tiffany (28), Candice (26), 3 nephews; Nolan (11), Mason (21) and Landon Laskowski (18). Also welcoming Shawn home is her father; George Guillen, step-sister; Brenda Harding, her grandparents; Stanley (Anna) Kosnik) and Harold and Marge Weeks.

 

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (Swede and Ashman Streets) Midland. Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym will officiate, the rite of committal follow  in St. Anthony Cemetery (Fisherville). Shawn’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Saturday morning Shawn will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass. There will be a parish vigil service 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church after the burial, all are welcome to attend both. We will always carry your memory in our hearts, until we meet again.” Please, in lieu of flowers consider a memorial contribution to the wishes of the family.
