Passed away Friday morning August 6, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison in Saginaw after a brief illness at the age of 91 years. Lena was born March 30, 1919 in Freeland to the late Hugh and Jane (Rogers) McLean and has resided in this area all of her life. Lena was a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church in Saginaw, she enjoyed knitting, crochetting and sewing, playing cards and gardening. She also enjoyed watching the Tigers. Lena loved spending time with family. She also worked for K-Mart for 16 years. In January 1938 Lena married John J, Eastwell, he predeceased her on April 18, 1978. Lena is survived by five children; Nancy (Clarence) Haskins of Freeland, Jane Dunham of Freeland, Gary (Toni) Eastwell of Newark, DE, Karen (Harry) Hatch of Lincoln, CA, Robert (Norma) Eastwell of Lansing, MI. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, one brother; Walter (Dorothy) McLean of Saginaw, two sisters; Ethel Tackabury of Birch Run and Essie Perakovic of Flint, MI also survive Lena. A daughter; Elaine May, a grandson; Mark Dzuba, two brothers; Sherman McLean and Elmer McLean, three sisters; Verna Myers, Alta Stevens and Marion Stevens have predeceased Lena.

 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 10, 2010 at Second Presbyterian Church  in Saginaw. Rev. William Bailey will officiate with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery (Freeland). Lena's family will receive friends at the Freeland Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday morning Lena will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
