Dennis P. Kusey of Sterling passed away unexpectedly 1/10/2018 at his winter home in FL.  Dennis was born in Standish, MI on 3/19/1952.  He was a lifetime resident of Arenac County, a truck driver, bar owner and member of the Moose Lodge, Skidway Lake.

       While trucking he wore many hats, hauling milk and sugar locally, various freight when over the road like conversion vans, automotive glass and engines, even watermelon in summer for fun.  Most recently asphalt with his latest business, Over-The-Hill-Gang Trucking.   His travels took him to many places which proved to provide many interesting stories that he enjoyed sharing.  He survived one accident and one tornado during his millions of miles.  In his free time he loved to cook, fish, hunt and enjoy friends.

       Dennis is survived by his sister-in-law Judy Kusey, only sister Maritrese (David) Black, brothers Jerome (Shelley) Kusey and Mark (Julie) Kusey, five nieces, Sarah, Amy, Stephanie, Maddison and Elizabeth, three nephews, Steven, Matthew and Elliot, three grandnieces, Ansley, Kenzie and Emelia and two grandnephews, James and Nolan.  Also surviving Dennis are many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend Robin Federspiel.  He was predeceased by parents Steve and Dorothy (Forro) Kusey and older brother James Kusey.      

       Funeral Mass will be held on 5/19/2018 at 11am, St Stephens Catholic Church, Skidway Lake, MI.   Fr. Lawrence Bok will officiate, with celebration lunch immediately following in the social hall behind  the church.  Internment of ashes will be at Clayton Cemetery, Kusey Family Plot, later that day.
