KNACK, Norman D. Sr., - of Clio, age 80, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Dale Lewis officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-9 PM and on Wednesday from 11 AM until time of services. Contributions may be made to the family.
Norman was born January 7, 1930 in Mt. Morris to the late Gus and Ethel (Eckmyre) Knack and resided in Clio the past 47 years. He served in the US Air Force as a firefighter for 6 years during the Korean Conflict. He married Marion Liquia on August 2, 1950. Mr. Knack retired from Fisher Coldwater in 1983 with 30 years seniority. He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church and the UAW Local #326. He enjoyed helping people, gardening and painting houses.
Surviving are: wife, Marion; 6 children, Norman Jr. (Carol) Knack of Birch Run, Karen (Troy) Bain of Mt. Morris, Brad (Dee) Knack of Genesee, Johnny (Mary) Knack of Clio, Lori (Steve) Cochran of Birch Run, Kimberly (Tim) Gill of Mt. Morris; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: son, Guy in 1962, 3 granddaughters, Jenny Knack in 1992, Rachel Barnum in 1993, Laura Cochran in 1994; sister and 3 brothers, Edith, Harlan, Roland and Robert. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Hurley ICU, Dr. E. Saeed and the doctors at Michigan Vascular Center.
