(Patrice) Darling of Saginaw; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dale (Donna) Darling of AZ, Wayne (Helen) Darling of Saginaw; his two sisters: Jean (Robert) Marshall of Coleman, and Carol Taylor of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Affiliations: he was employed most of his life as a tool and die maker with Miller Mold (1962 – 1990) and Thompson Ball and Screw (1990 – 1998) from where he retired. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1859 in Carrollton.

Lou Ann Darling, age 74 years and Duane Walter Darling, age 78 years, both died at their home on Friday, August 20, 2010 of natural causes.  Lou Ann was born May 30, 1936 to the late Edward and Frances (Jordan) Trahan in Bay City where she graduated from St. Joseph High School.  Duane was born August 11, 1932 to the late Walter and Veronica (Harris) Darling in Saginaw where he was employed most of his life as a tool and die maker with Miller Mold (1962 – 1990) and Thompson Ball and Screw (1990 – 1998) from where he retired.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1859 in Carrollton.

They were united in marriage on June 30, 1956 and Lou Ann enjoyed her role as homemaker and spending time with her family.  In his spare time, Duane raised ponies, built model railroads, and had fun with his dogs. 

They are survived by their three sons:  Edward D. (Tammy) Darling of Burt, MI, David W. (Penny) Darling of Houston, TX, Michael S. (Patrice) Darling of Saginaw; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Lou Ann is also survived by her sister: Patsy (Jerry) Bugia of Chicago; and her aunt, Anne Trahan of Bay City; and Duane is also survived by two brothers:  Dale (Donna) Darling of AZ, Wayne (Helen) Darling of Saginaw; his two sisters: Jean (Robert) Marshall of Coleman, and Carol Taylor of Indiana; and they have many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

The joint funeral services will be celebrated Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.  Duane’s nephew, Rev. Robert Marshall will officiate and interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw.  Military rites for Duane will be conducted under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Covenant Hospital Wound Care Unit or the American Cancer Society.  Visiting hours with the family will be Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 pm; and Thursday after 11:00 am until time of service.  Online condolences:  www.trahanfc.com
