Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Janet are his three children and their spouses, Lynne and David Kindy of New Lothrop; Kevin and Amy Dietzel of Reese; and Gregory of Bay City; his grandchildren, Alyssa Konesko and her husband Patrick, Haley Kindy, Chelsea, Megan, Autumn, Sydney, Tyler Dietzel and Alex Barrons. Also surviving are his two sisters, Betty Johnson of Saginaw and Barbara Zimmerman of Bay City. In addition to his parents, Dale was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Edward Poplewski, Robert Poplewski, Donna Fowler, Benjamin C. Dietzel Jr. and Sally Marczak.
Affiliations: He was employed for 27 years by U.S. Graphite in Saginaw and later owned and operated Dietzel Trucking in Reese from 1985 until his retirement in 2005. After his retirement he drove trucks for both LaRaCha and Zwerk Farms in the Reese area. His enjoyments included motorcycle riding, garage sales, fishing, auctions, country music and traveling with his wife. He was also a master “Mister Fix It”. Dale was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association; the Owner Operator Independent Driver’s Association, The Gera Old Tractor Club and was a Scout Master of Troop 215. He was also an active Volunteer with the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter.

Dale A. Dietzel, 71, of Reese, died Monday afternoon, August 23, 2010 form injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Friday, August 20th. He was born, January 27, 1939 in Indiantown, Saginaw County, son of the late Benjamin C. and Marybelle (Osborn) Dietzel. Dale attended Saginaw High School and later served his country with the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. On June 14, 1958 he married the former Janet Marie Johnson. She survives him. He was employed for 27 years by U.S. Graphite in Saginaw and later owned and operated Dietzel Trucking in Reese from 1985 until his retirement in 2005. After his retirement he drove trucks for both LaRaCha and Zwerk Farms in the Reese area. His enjoyments included motorcycle riding, garage sales, fishing, auctions, country music and traveling with his wife.  The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 from the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese. Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate with graveside committal services to follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #139 in Reese. Dale’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the Liturgy.
