Ann M. Menter, age 86 of Levering, MI and formerly of Saginaw, MI, died August 29, 2010 at her home.
Ann was born on August 14, 1924 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Homza) Sutorik and was raised in Saginaw. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1943.
On February 10, 1945, Ann married James Menter in Saginaw and together in 1965 they owned and operated the Saginaw Motor Court and Central Industrial Manufacturing. In 1980, they moved the shop to its current home on West Conway Road in Harbor Springs, retiring in 1982. On May 10, 1997, James preceded her in death.
Ann was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parrish in Petoskey and a former member of the St. Mary’s Parrish in Saginaw. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino and in her younger years, enjoyed needle work and boating.
Ann is survived by a daughter, Carol (Don) Berg of Alanson, MI; a granddaughter, Tracie (Ron) Hennings of Largo, FL; a great grandson, Cody Hennings; 3 sibling, John (Kathleen) Sutorik of Frankenmuth, MI, Mary Rundell of Midland, MI, and Joseph Sutorik of Boulder, CO; and by her loving caregivers, Joel and Charlene Scheitler of Levering, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and 4 siblings, George Sutorik, Frank Sutorik, Agnes Geiger, and Mathew Sutorik.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey, Michigan and from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, September 3, at the Snow Funeral Home in Saginaw, MI. A Vigil Service, led by Deacon Roger Pasionek, will take place 7:00 p.m. Friday. The Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery, Saginaw. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Donations in Ann’s memory may be directed to the Vitalcare/Hospice of the Straits in Cheboygan or the Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation in Petoskey.
