Lee Terry, age 90, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at his home, following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Homer E. & Anna (Montague) Terry on December 4, 1919 on the family farm in the same bedroom where he was to pass away ninety years later. Lee’s passion was farming, and he spent his life working the land of his family farm that he cared for and cherished. His career slowed in 1985 when he began renting his farmland, but Lee was still active in the oversight of the farm. He was united in marriage with the former Mary ‘Peggy’ Coleman on January 13, 1947 in Unionville. Lee was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and enjoyed showing the farm to his grandchildren on his golf cart.
Surviving are his loving wife, Peggy Terry of Caro; two sons, three daughters and their spouses, Boyd & Pauline Terry of Vassar, Kathryn & Gary Holik, David & Micky Terry, Cynthia & Michael Parker, Marybeth & Chuck Hover all of Caro; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild yet to be named in January of 2011; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Wayne and Wilton Terry and Wilton’s wife, Marion; and one niece, Deanna Warren.
