Survived By: He is survived by his mother Jeanne Barcia and his father William (Bill) Barcia & Robin Wiess: his sister and best friend Deniege Barcia & fiancé Nick Vouaux; his step brother Dustin Wiess; grandmothers Marie Rivard and Darlene Barcia, many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and fellow farmers that shared a part of his life with him everyday.

Matt age 27 passed away Wednesday September 1, 2010 from injuries received in an auto accident. He was born in Midland on January 25, 1983 to William & Jeanne (Rivard) Barcia.  Matt was a fun loving guy and made life an adventure everyday. He was a graduate of Pinconning Area Schools Class of 2002 and a Journeyman in the Boilermakers Local 169. His heart was in farming with his Dad and partner in the Barcia Farm where he grew up. He loved playing ball with his childhood friends and new friends that he met at the game and after. This year was a special one for Matt as his softball team Crop Production Services won the Northern Bay / Arenac Slow Pitch Softball League 2010 Championship.

He is survived by his mother Jeanne Barcia and his father William (Bill) Barcia & Robin Wiess: his sister and best friend Deniege Barcia & fiancé Nick Vouaux; his step brother Dustin Wiess; grandmothers Marie Rivard and Darlene Barcia, many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and fellow farmers that shared a part of his life with him everyday. He was predeceased by his grandfathers James Rivard and Louis Barcia.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday September 5, 2010 at 1 pm from St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Seafert presiding with burial in St. Mary’s Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Friday from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday from 1 to 9 pm. On Sunday Matt will lie in state at the church from noon until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to be directed to the Barcia family so a fund can be established for sponsorship of the baseball league and for the Future Farmers of America.
