Fowler, John H.
Freeland, MIchigan
Passed away Sunday morning September 5,2010 at his home in Freeland after a lenghty illness at the age of 80 years. John was born October 19, 1929 in Flint, MI to the late John L. and Myra M. (Mashue) Flowers and has resided in this area all of his life. John was a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church in Saginaw in which he was an elder, taught adult Sunday School and was president of the men's club for many years. John retired from Dow Chemical Co. in 1986 after 35 years of service. On November 11, 1950 John married Carole A. McGarrity, she survives him. Four children; Mark (Denise) Fowler of Bay City, Andrew Fowler of Gatlinburg, TN, Patti Sue (Robert) Fischer of Raleigh, NC, John P. (Sarah) Fowler of Franklin, TN, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister; Myra Lee Fitzgerald of Freeland also survive John. Two sisters have predeceased John.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 9, 2010 at 2nd Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. Rev. Jim Newman will officiate with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Freeland. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington, Freeland on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider 2nd Presbyterian Church, Saginaw, Hospice of Michigan or the donor's favorite charity.
