Survived By: His wife, Judy, one son, Robert (Peggy Jo) Holycross of Rhodes, one grandson, Daniel R. Holycross, two sisters, Delores (Robert) McKellar of Midland and Linda (Jerry) Moss of Sanford. In addition to his parents Bud was predeceased by one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Dinger of Midland.

Leonard H. “Bud” Holycross 75 of Midland died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at The MidMichigan Medical Center.  He was born on December 29, 1934 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, son of the late Richard Pearl and Gennelle (Wilson) Holycross. 

 

Bud attended school in Ohio. He served with the U.S. Air force during the Korean Conflict.  On August 19, 1961 Bud married the former Judith Wixson in Midland.  He worked for 34 years for the Midland Sears store and the Fashion Square store, retiring in June of 1995 as receiving manager.  Bud enjoyed searching for and restoring “muscle cars” and spending time with his family.

  

 He is survived by his wife, Judy, one son, Robert (Peggy Jo) Holycross of Rhodes, one grandson, Daniel R. Holycross, two sisters, Delores (Robert) McKellar of Midland and Linda (Jerry) Moss of Sanford.  In addition to his parents Bud was predeceased by one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Dinger of Midland. 

 

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Street.  Pastor Reed Schoer will officiate with burial in New Edenville Township Cemetery.  Military honors will be presented by the Midland Area Veterans. Bud’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund in Bud’s memory.
