Don passed away Tuesday September 7, 2010 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital,

Saginaw age 83. He was born the son of the late Richard and Florence (Haag) Kes-

emeyer May 15, 1927 in Bay County and had resided in this area all his life. He

served with the U.S. Army,  worked for 60 + years in the plumbing industry as

a residential and commercial installer as well as inspector, was a member of Trin-

ity Lutheran Church (Monitor) where he served as a trustee, enjoyed hunting,

bowling,  camping, playing cards and spending time with his family. On October

2, 1948 in Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor), he married Esther K. Kernstock,

she predeceased him on May 22, 1997. He is survived by 2 children; Judith (Gary)

Mc Cray, Saginaw, Ronald Kesemeyer, Flushing, 7 grandchildren; Briana (Matthew)

Hauser, Stephen, Kristopher (Theresa), Patrick (Nanette), Jeffrey, David and Erika,

several great-grandchildren, 4 sisters; Iris Dominowski, Auburn, Elaine (Art) Prahl,

Bay City, Nina (Robert) Hooper, Auburn, Jan Reisig, Auburn and many nieces, neph-

ews, relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by a stillborn son and daughter and

sister; Bernice.

 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 11, 2010 at Trinity Luth-

eran Church (Salzburg & 8 Mile Rds.) Monitor Twp. Rev. David F. Sherry will officiate

with a private family burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City to follow. Don’s fam-

ily will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes,

Inc. on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Saturday morning Don will lie in state at the

church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy,

envelopes for “A time to build” at Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor) and the Alzheimer’s

Association will be available at the funeral home.
