Holly Elizabeth Shutler (Goodburne), age 54, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away after her year-long battle with cancer.  Holly was born in Florence, Alabama to Nancy and Bruce Goodburne.  She grew up in Bay City, Michigan and attended Central High School, Delta College, and Central Michigan University.  Holly and her husband Tom were together for 30 years and married for 16.  She was an extremely loving mother and adventure companion of her son, Colum.  Holly was also a hard worker who brightened up The Limited Corporation, Columbia Sportswear and Wonderful Foods.  For several years, Holly was the Director of Athletics for the Alma Highland Festival, where she got to boss around big guys in kilts.  She loved the outdoors, attending her son Colum’s sporting events and tailgating at Michigan State games.  Colum and his mom also enjoyed making holiday cookies for their fantastic neighbors.

Holly embraced life, loved her friends and family, and wore something purple every day.  Holly will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tom, her son Colum, by her parents, Bruce Goodburne and Nancy (Ken) Rousse, and by her stepson David (Sarah) Shutler, brothers: Stuart (Lynn) Goodburne, Matt Goodburne and Chris (Ananta) Goodburne.  Holly will also be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, grandson, extended family, amazing friends, and her sweet dog, Potter.

Wear something purple and join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church, Bay City, MI.  Visitation from 11:00 to 12:00 PM  Service begins at 12:00 PM.  The Rev. Leslie M. Piper will officiate.  Donations in memory of Holly may be made to Colum Shutler’s College Fund (MESP). For on-line sentiments: www.trahanfc.com
