Frankenmuth, MI

Went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper, age 85 years.  Marion Sawatzki was born on November 20, 1925 in Saginaw, MI to the late Elmer and Henrietta (Bull) Sawatzki.   She was married to Arnold Schluckebier on October 7, 1944.  He predeceased her on April 19, 1989.  Marion was then married to William Adams on March 14, 1995.  He survives her.  Marion was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Bridgeport.

Surviving besides her husband William are 5 children; Donald (Linda) Schluckebier, James (Connie) Schluckebier, Roxanne (Walter) Lelo, Patricia Schomaker, Deborah (Stephen) Popp, all of Bridgeport.  Seven step-children; Victoria Adams, Saginaw, Mary Kay Potts, Florida, William (Melanie) Adams, Washington, Sharon (Ken) Platteschorre, Grand Rapids, Jean Engels, Auburn, Joan (Steve) Bethune, Grand Haven, Linda (Chris) Beck, Hemlock, 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Robert Sawatzki, 3 sisters; Bernice (Tom) Girard,  June (Fred) Ostler, Dorothy (Dale) Ferchau, all of Saginaw sister-in-law Doris Wamsley, Flint, and many nieces and nephews.  Marion was predeceased by son-in-law Paul Schomaker, stepson Richard Adams, and sister-in-law Marguerite Sawatzki.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 6065 King Rd., Bridgeport.   Rev. Rachel Laughlin will officiate with burial to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.  Marion’s family will receive visitors at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Wednesday from 1-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
