Also surviving is his brother, Michael (Libby) Greanya of Jackson; a sister, Lisa (Mark) Stephen of Bridgeport; stepchildren, Melody Stone, Kelly (Randy) Smith, and Terry Elkins; step grandchildren, Morgan, Zoey, and Dylan; nephew, Michael, and two nieces, Marla and Kelsey; along with many friends.

GREANYA, Thomas Fred “Grady” of Pinconning, Michigan.  Age 61 years, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 23, 2011 in MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland.  He was born in Flint on October 10, 1949 and graduated from Mt. Morris High School.  Tom honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later was employed with Consumers Energy for 30 years.  He was a member of the American Legion Post in Crump and U.U.W.A. Local #144.  “Grady” enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, sports, and going to Canada with friends and family, and his “Bump”.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Greanya and Georgianna Draper.  He is survived by his wife, Sally, whom he married on July 4, 2004.  Also surviving is his brother, Michael (Libby) Greanya of Jackson; a sister, Lisa (Mark) Stephen of Bridgeport; stepchildren, Melody Stone, Kelly (Randy) Smith, and Terry Elkins; step grandchildren, Morgan, Zoey, and Dylan;  nephew, Michael, and two nieces, Marla and Kelsey; along with many friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel, Bay City.  Rev. Dr. Philip A. Rice will officiate, with military rites following by the Bay County Veterans Council.  Cremation will take place and interment of his ashes will be in Mackinaw City at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.  Visiting hours are Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Trahan Chapel.
