Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Judy are two sons, Stephen Lynch and his wife Erin, New York; Andrew Lynch, Chicago; two sisters and five brothers, Eileen Jacobs, Marjorie (Robert) Hanson, Terrence, Aaron, William, Gerald (Alice) and Timothy Lynch; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Leo was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers, Nora Ann McConnaughey, Donald, Charles, Harry and Louis Lynch.
Affiliations: Leo was a man of many gifts; he served as youth director for the Diocese of Saginaw, he taught at St. Paul Seminary, served as assistant at St. Mary Cathedral and St. Stephen Catholic Church. He continued up to the present to celebrate Mass with the Emmanuel Catholic community. Leo was active in the civil rights and anti-war movements with a strong belief in peace and non-violence. He shared his deep love of music in many ways; as part of The New Image with Al Lacki and Ralph Buggia in the late 1960s, and later performing at benefit concerts, weddings, community theater, nursing and retirement homes.

Beloved husband, father and friend passed away Friday, October 9, 2009. Age 78 years. The son of the late William and Ina (Beaushaw) Lynch, Leo was born August 27, 1931 in Munger, Michigan. Leo was ordained a priest in Rome in 1956, serving the Saginaw area for 13 years. On July 31, 1970, he married Judy Hayes Lynch. She survives him.  Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.,  (between Shattuck and McCarty). Leos cousin and dear friend, Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel, will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Loan Assistance Program (LAP), Habitat for Humanity or the charity of their choice.
